Switch Up

on April 8, 2013

OK, not really serious about this but I think I’ve found a way to change my results. Switch my weigh-in day to Monday instead of Saturday. I’ve been weighing myself on Mondays just for kicks for several weeks to see what the difference is from Saturday to Monday and all but once I have been 1-4 pounds less Monday morning than I am Saturday morning.

This morning I weighed in at 237.5, a low I have not yet achieved no matter which day I weigh in. Saturday I was 240.

I feel a little better about myself today and am going into this week with good motivation to do my best and hope for a good result to share with you at week end.

By the way, how close do you have to be to a bullet to actually hear it whiz past you?

Yay! Actually, the leader at my Sat. meeting was talking about the difference in people weighing on Sat. or Mon. – those who weigh in on Sat. may relax their eating a bit on the weekend since they won’t weigh again for a week, while the ones who weigh in on Mon. may be more careful on the weekend, especially Sunday….. I realize this doesn’t really speak to why your weight is less on Mondays…. Keep it up!

Well that’s a theory! I still try to be careful on weekends because I know that is when the most opportunity for slip ups occurs. Eating out or at other peoples’ homes. Weekends and Wednesdays are my days where it can be harder to stay on track.

Yeah for you. My scale is either a piece of junk or it likes to play tricks on me. Two weeks ago, when I weighed myself, i was 7 lbs lighter than I had been a week ago and I knew form the way my clothes were fitting I had lost some weight, but not 7 lbs, although I really would have liked to believe it. So I had my girls go weigh themselves and they very encouragingly came and told me “sorry mom, the scale’s wrong” 🙁
So yeah, my Saturday morning routine is, weight myself, leave the room and do whatever, come back a bit later and weight myself again, If after the third time, it’s still the same weight, that’s what I record.
I have lost 7.5 lbs since starting weight watchers 5 weeks ago, I think and several cm here and there and it feels great! But it’s no easy task to bring a flabby stubborn body under subjection. It fights me every step of the way. Sara, keep on doing what you’re doing, I am very proud of what you’ve accomplished so far.

Susan, do you have an old fashioned scale or digital? I could never get consistent results on those older style scales either. And yes, the way clothes fit and how one feels are far more important than that number on the scale – its just the number sure helps to boost our spirits and keep us going, right?

I weight myself every day, maybe once a week is key. I would have to pick Thursday to weight in, as Monday I hate myself if I did cheat on the weekend. Have to myself to Thursday to work it off.
