Little Mama On The Prairie

A life and weight-loss journey.

Weigh-In Day, Week 21

on June 16, 2013

I guess I forgot to post yesterday! Anyway, not much to report, up 1 pound from last week. Continuing to watch what I eat and exercising. Thinking about booking a physical since its been a couple of years…curious to see how my weight compares to what is on file at the Doctor’s office considering the last time they weighed me there I think was about 6-8 weeks pregnant with our son.

I don’t know how following my journey affects you, I am tempted to think that when my weight doesn’t budge or goes up instead of down, in spite of my efforts, that those reading will start to think “what’s the point”? But I can tell you that even if I never drop another pound, continuing the lifestyle I have been forming for the past 21 weeks has benefited me in more ways than just the weight loss. My overall health is improved from what it was and that is worth every effort. Sure, there are days where I wish I could just eat whatever without thinking, and the odd day I do, but more often than not I know I will regret eating “whatever” more than I will enjoy it in the moment and that has kept me from making not-so-healthy food choices over the past weeks and months.

There are also days where I wish I could just lie on the couch and watch the workout DVD but I know I feel better after having completed a workout so I do it anyway.

See, I’m not always gung-ho (is that how you even spell it and what does that even mean???) about losing weight but I firmly believe in continuing this journey I started so I keep on keeping on.

Happy Father’s Day to all the daddies out there!

Life is hard and so is losing weight. I would rather watch tv or read before exercise too, but I know I am the only one that can change my weight. Even a little bit of excercise is better than none. I am at my last ten piunds to lose and I am not giving up, but I do not want to eat salads all the time, so lots of protein and vegetables and fruit will be my diet, clean eating and the gym. It is a life change forever. Keep up e great blog.
